      Our charming 1830’s farmhouse is situated on 50 acres of open fields and wild apple and maple sugar orchards, nestled in the Green Mountain National Forest. The home has three bedrooms, one and one-half bathrooms, galley kitchen with pantry, dining room and living room. All freshly painted, with new electrical and plumbing throughout. Relax on the large porch with Adirondack chairs and breathtaking views of the Green Mountains. A flock of seven sheep graze on the pastures. There are lovely walking trails, and a campfire and picnic area in the fields surrounding the farmhouse.

      The house is easy driving distance to Middlebury College's Bread Loaf Campus in Ripton, as well as the towns of Brandon and Middlebury. Brandon is only 15 minutes away and offers several wonderful restaurants, grocery store, boutiques, library, art galleries and local history museum. Middlebury is about 30 minutes away and offers a vibrant arts community and charming downtown, as well as all that Middlebury College has to offer. Burlington is one hour to the north and we are a short drive away from most of Vermont's top attractions.

      There is plenty of recreational opportunities in the area. Vermont's famous Long Trail is a short hike away from the house. The Green Mountain National Forest provides excellent hiking opportunities on Mount Moosalamoo, Romance Mountain, Mt. Horrid and Silver Lake. Easy access to swimming and quiet boating is available on Lake Dunmore and Branbury State Park, Silver Lake and Sugar Hill Reservoir. Access some of the best mountain bike in Vermont at the Blueberry Hill, Silver Lake, Chandler Ridge and Leicester Hollow trails, plus Chatfield Loop and Minnie Baker trails.

      Bedrooms: One downstairs bedroom with a queen bed, second upstairs room with a double bed, and a third upstairs bedroom with two twin beds. Accommodates 6 people. All linens are provided.

      Bathrooms: Full bath downstairs and half-bath upstairs – towels provided

      Kitchen: Fully equipped galley kitchen with pantry and all cooking and eating utensils. Large refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, double sink, coffee maker, toaster and microwave.

      Living Room: Cozy seating area with braided rugs, comfortable couch, armchair, rocking chair and wood stove. Small TV and DVD player.

      Dining Room: Antique table with seating for up to 6 people

      Porch: Southerly views of the Green Mountains and Taconics with Adirondack chairs and dining area for six.

      Extras: Gas grill and fireplace for outdoor cooking. Picnic area, and campfire in the upper apple orchard with unbelievable mountain views.

      Heat: Home is heated with a wood stove – all wood is provided.

      Sheep: Our flock of seven sheep graze on the two pastures during the summer months. Caution - there is electric wire on the interior of the fence. The sheep are self sufficient, but we do check on them.

      Farmhouse is available for Rental from April 15 - November 30. Closed during the winter months.
