Special Educator - SEL Focus

Addison Northwest School District is seeking a certified Special Educator to support grades 6-12 students with a variety of special needs. We’re looking for someone who brings creativity, social-emotional learning expertise, and innovative approaches to increase student engagement. Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work closely with colleagues, paraeducators, and families are highly valued.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with general and special educators to instruct and support students with multiple disabilities.
• Develop, modify, and accommodate curriculum to meet diverse student needs in classroom and pull-out settings.
• Implement behavioral plans and support social-emotional growth.
• Supervise and coordinate paraeducators.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, families, and staff.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Expertise in social-emotional learning (SEL).
• Creative approaches to engage students in learning.
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Experience integrating students with emotional/behavioral challenges into classroom life.

• Masters Degree; licensed Special Educator

Pay Rate Scale: $57,733 - $95,384
