School Nutrition Assistant

ANWSD School Nutrition is hiring for 30-35 hours per week as a School Nutrition Cook/Assistant at Vergennes Union Middle & High School.  Scratch cooking and daily meal preparation, line service, cleaning, and kitchen maintenance in an energetic, fun team environment dedicated to serving students well.

This position requires daily cooking and culinary skills.  Previous kitchen work including knife skills and use of commercial kitchen equipment is a plus.  We are looking for a positive, motivated, energetic person who enjoys food preparation, healthy food, and being with students, with a strong desire to learn and interest in working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.  Some lifting of 30-50 pounds as well as standing for long periods of time are required.

Position is a school year position starting in August and ending in June with an option of working in our summer program each year.  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent
• Experience: 1 year

FTE:  1.0
