Classroom Teacher Grades 3/4
Posted: 04/13/2025Monkton Central School (MAUSD) is seeking an enthusiastic, wonderful and dedicated 3/4 classroom teacher to join our educational team. The successful candidate will teach 3/4 literacy, science and social studies and math. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for creating a positive learning environment that fosters the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students while having a great time! The ideal candidate must love teamwork, positive culture and being a part of a community involved school.
Key Responsibilities:- Strong in literacy instruction, planning and implementation.
- Experience in teaching menu based instruction with an emphasis on a literacy menu
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the diverse needs and interests of students.
- Deliver high-quality instruction in accordance with the school’s curriculum and educational standards.
- Assess and monitor student progress through various assessment methods, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, including attendance, grades, and behavioral reports.
- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administration regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current with educational best practices.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to support student learning and school initiatives.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment.
- Participate in school-wide events, meetings, and activities as required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move classroom materials as needed.
- Classroom setting with frequent interaction with students, staff, and parents.

Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
Licensure: Vermont issued professional educator license for elementary education
Experience: Previous teaching experience preferred but not required.
Skills: Strong classroom management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
Bachelor degree preferred.
Citizenship, residency or work visa required
