    The Role
    As a Cabinet Coating Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations and continued success of Silver Maple Woodworks. You'll be responsible for applying premium stains and finishes to the diverse array of custom products crafted by our talented artisans. Your expertise will ensure that every piece meets our standards of quality and beauty.

    Key responsibilities include preparing surfaces through meticulous sanding, applying stains with precision, and expertly coating with sealers and topcoats. We maintain an unwavering commitment to detail and quality control, and you'll collaborate closely with our internal teams to ensure every product exemplifies Silver Maple's standards of excellence.

    About You
    You embody a detail-oriented and proactive approach, driven by exceptional attention to detail and a genuine passion for excellence in your craft.     Experience & Skills Required
    For Experienced Candidates:
    Minimum of 2 years of woodworking experience and 3 years of finish application experience
    Proficiency in mixing and spraying diverse pre- and post-catalyzed waterborne and solvent-based finishes
    For Career Starters:
    Strong desire to build a career in woodworking and finishing
    Willingness to participate in our comprehensive training program
    Demonstrated work ethic and attention to detail
     

    Key Responsibilities
    Prepare wood surfaces for finishing through expert sanding, thorough cleaning, and proper conditioning
    Apply stains, sealers, lacquers, varnishes, and specialty finishes using appropriate techniques and professional equipment
    Operate, clean, and maintain spray equipment to optimal performance standards
    Mix and match finishes to achieve desired colors and effects according to precise specifications
    Inspect surfaces for imperfections and implement corrections before and during the finishing process
    Monitor environmental conditions to ensure optimal finishing results
    Document finishing processes and maintain accurate records of materials used for quality assurance and inventory management
    Execute proper sanding between coats for superior finish quality
    Maintain a clean, organized finishing area while adhering to all safety protocols and regulations

    Work Environment
    Full-time position in our state-of-the-art woodworking facility in New Haven, Vermont
    Climate-controlled spray booth and finishing area equipped with modern technology
    Comprehensive PPE required, including respirator, safety glasses, and protective clothing
    Exposure to wood dust and finishing materials in a professionally managed environment
