• Long Term Substitute School Counselor

    The Mt. Abraham Unified School District is seeking a compassionate and student-centered Long-Term Substitute School Counselor at Monkton Central School to support students in grades K–6. The successful candidate will provide social-emotional, academic, and behavioral guidance services in a collaborative, school-based setting. This role supports the overall well-being and success of elementary students through individual counseling, small group work, classroom support, and collaboration with families and staff. This long-term substitute position is anticipated to run from mid-April through late September, with a summer break.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide individual and small-group support to K–6 students
    • Support students’ social-emotional learning, behavior, and academic success
    • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and student support staff
    • Participate in problem-solving and student support meetings as needed
    • Support school-wide initiatives related to student wellness and positive behavior
    Qualifications
    • Background in mental health / SEL support
    • Experience working with elementary-age students
    • Experience supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioral health
    • Master’s degree in School Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred but not necessary.
    • Vermont School Counselor endorsement preferred (or eligibility to obtain)
    The salary is $289.66 per day April - June
    The salary is $307.76 per day August - September
