• Long-Term Elementary Science Educator

    Join our dedicated team at Vergennes Union Elementary School as we seek an enthusiastic Science Educator to inspire curiosity and scientific thinking in our 4th and 5th grade students. This one-month position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a supportive learning community.

    Responsibilities:

    • Deliver engaging science instruction that connects concepts across disciplines and builds upon students' prior knowledge.
    • Lead daily morning meetings using Responsive Classroom and PBIS approaches to build community and positive behavior.
    • Apply current educational research, best practices, and legal requirements to create effective learning experiences for all students.
    • Adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs, considering intellectual, social, emotional, and cultural backgrounds.
    • Foster a positive learning environment that emphasizes scientific inquiry, celebrates high-quality student work, and maintains high academic expectations.
    • Manage classroom routines efficiently, including instructional groupings, smooth transitions, materials organization, and non-instructional tasks.
    • Communicate instructions, expectations, and feedback clearly through both verbal and written channels.
    Qualifications Required: Teaching license and bachelor’s degree preferred, experience desirable
