School Nurse (.40 FTE)

Vergennes Union Middle & High School is seeking a School Nurse (.40 FTE) starting for the 2026 - 2027school year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Areas of student health care responsibilities include:
• Assessment
• First aid
• Health screening
• Medication administration
• Assist in communicable disease control
• Immunization assessment
• Attend student meetings as necessary
• Assessment and care of students with special needs

Additional areas of responsibilities include:

• Compilation of statistical information
• Maintenance of health and medication records/logs
• Accident reporting
• Member of the Wellness and Safety Teams
• Student/staff emergency card maintenance
• Preparation of required state reports
• Providing staff and parents with information of school health policies, and other pertinent health resource information
• Providing interpretation of health information to staff and parents
• Promoting a healthy school environment

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing plus a minimum of 2 years of clinical or community nursing of which 200 days must have been within the last 4 years and must have completed an approved educational orientation program for school nurses
• License: Vermont Professional Educator’s License in the area of School Nurse, valid Professional Registered Nurse
• (R.N.) license in the State of Vermont, and hold a current certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Experience: 2 years
