Paraeducator - Immediate Opening

Ferrisburgh Central School seeks a full-time paraprofessional. Staff will work to teach their students effective executive functioning skills such as communication skills, social skills, and academic skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborates with teachers and service providers to support students
• Encourages and supports appropriate social skills, interactions with peers, and conversation with partners and small groups as they relate to behavior
• Apply and implement techniques per Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) guidelines
• Communicate effectively
• Make sound judgements
• Quickly adapt to changing situations
• Facilitate social and inclusive interactions among the student and their peers
• Support assigned students with their classroom work in a separate learning environment on a temporary basis as needed or requested
• Other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements
Qualifications and Education:

• Degree Preferred: High School diploma and two years of study (minimum of 48 credit hours) or Associate’s (or higher) degree or completion of Paraeducator Training
• Experience:1 year
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
