Instructional Coach in Mathematics Grades 5-8 (One Year)

The Mount Abraham Unified School District (MAUSD) is committed to strengthening its comprehensive system of support and is seeking an experienced and dynamic educator to join our instructional support team as an Instructional Math Coach. We are seeking an educator with expertise in Mathematics, who will support teachers across our district, primarily focusing on grades 5-8. Candidates with teaching and instructional leadership experience are encouraged to apply.  This is a one year position.

Located in the scenic Champlain Valley between Burlington and Middlebury, MAUSD is a rural district serving approximately 1,200 students from PK through grade 12.

Job Summary
The ideal candidate will be an instructional leader with a strong background in mathematics instruction, and a proven ability to work collaboratively with educators to enhance instructional practices. The Math Coach will support the implementation of best practices in math content and skill development, differentiation, and data-informed instruction in a proficiency-based learning environment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to:

• Coach both mathematics teachers and educators in other content areas to support the integration of math and critical thinking skills.
• Facilitate curriculum alignment, instructional improvement, intervention strategies, and assessment development within a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS).
• Collaborate with the Instructional Coordinator, other coaches, and interventionists to ensure consistency and effectiveness across the district.
• Model high-quality instruction and lead engaging, relevant professional development.

Salary is commensurate with experience and per the Mount Abraham Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. The salary schedule range is $53,875 - $101,878

Job Requirements

• Master's degree in Mathematics or a related field.
• Must have or be eligible for a Vermont educator license with endorsement in mathematics.
• Strong knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and students.
• Commitment to continuous professional growth and development.
• At least 5 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
