General Ledger Accounting
Posted: 07/17/2026The General Ledger Accountant supports day‑to‑day accounting activities and helps maintain accurate financial records. Working within a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment, this role assists with the month‑end close process, prepares basic reconciliations, and supports compliance with GAAP, government contracting requirements, and internal controls. This position offers strong opportunities for growth within the accounting team as skills and responsibilities develop.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Close Process- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
- Prepare routine journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Help ensure financial reports are completed accurately and on time
- Support the maintenance of the general ledger and chart of accounts
- Assist with tracking accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and intercompany activity
- Follow GAAP and internal accounting policies in daily work
- Assist with basic FAR/DFARS compliance tasks
- Support internal controls by following established procedures
- Assist with external audits, DCAA reviews, and basic tax support
- Provide documentation support for SOX activities, if needed
- Collaborate with AR, AP, Cost Accounting, and Operations
- Provide support for budgeting and forecasting tasks
- Provide basic financial analysis and variance explanations
- Support ERP data entry and system updates
Qualifications
Education & Experience:- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 2+ years of accounting experience
Skills & Competencies:- Basic understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Familiarity with cost accounting or inventory concepts, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn additional tools
- Strong analytical skills with ability to organize and prioritize work
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and integrity
Preferred Qualifications
CPA or CPA candidate
Work Environment- Office setting within a manufacturing facility
- Regular interaction with executive leadership and cross-functional departments
- Occasional extended hours during close cycles, audits, or year-end
