Festival on-the-Green

About Us

Middlebury Festival on the Green has been acclaimed by Vermont Life as “the best series of free performances in Vermont” and as Vermont’s “Favorite Festival.” We have also been distinguished this year and ten past times with selection as a Vermont Chamber of Commerce “Top Ten Summer Event” and has been named a 2024 Vermont Signature Event.

The festival is held annually in July on the Middlebury Village Green in the center of town. The 40' by 60' big tent holds 200 wooden chairs facing a 16' by 24' stage. The tent is surrounded by a sloping lawn with unlimited seating. There are many genres of music included in the week as we try and present something for everyone. Everything is free, but we do “pass the hat” during intermission to help support the Festival.
