Are you passionate about supporting individuals through emotional distress or crisis using empathy, respect, and shared experience?
We welcome applicants with relevant lived experience and a deep commitment to peer support values.
Hours: 20 hours/week
Schedule: Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays preferred
Overall Role: As a Peer Support Specialist at Interlude—a welcoming, non-clinical crisis support space—you will support adults experiencing emotional distress or life disruption. You’ll engage in supportive, person-centered dialogue, grounded in mutuality, lived experience, and trust. Support may include talking through challenges, participating in calming or creative activities, and co-developing plans for moving through difficult times.
Qualifications:- Personal experience with emotional distress, mental health challenges, trauma, or other life-interrupting events — and a desire to support others through mutual connection.
- Ability to build authentic relationships across diverse backgrounds, grounded in curiosity, trust, and respect for others’ self-knowledge.
- Comfort holding space for a wide range of emotional experiences without judgment or the need to “fix.”
- Deep commitment to the values of self-defined recovery and healing.
- Willingness to engage in advocacy and contribute to shifting systems toward more person-centered, dignity-driven models of care.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for local travel.
- Intentional Peer Support training is a plus but not required. We value lived experience and are committed to supporting new team members through training.

- Benefits eligible for part-time positions of 20 hours or more
- Starting wages: $23.57/hour
