• Events and Marketing Coordinator

    The Events & Marketing Coordinator is a key ambassador for Vermont Public, helping bring our mission, programming and public service value to life. This position represents Vermont Public at community events around the region. Through face-to-face interactions, they create welcoming and engaging experiences that introduce new audiences to our brand and strengthen loyalty among existing fans, supporters and partners.

    In addition to community event engagement, the Events & Marketing Coordinator supports Vermont Public’s broader marketing and engagement efforts by curating and promoting our community calendar, hosting station tours and educational visits, and providing marketing and event support.

    The role requires a strong interest in and knowledge of public media; excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills; and comfort engaging with the public in face-to-face settings. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required. The role involves frequent travel throughout Vermont, with occasional travel to Canada.


    Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

    Community Events & Brand Representation (40%)

    • Serve as an enthusiastic brand ambassador for Vermont Public, representing our mission, programming and community value with warmth and professionalism at community events across the region.
    • Recommend and help select community events, performances and tabling opportunities that align with Vermont Public’s audience engagement goals.
    • Support fundraising and other mission-aligned activities as needed and appropriate.

    Audience Experience Planning (25%)
    • Help design creative, welcoming booth and table experiences that introduce new audiences to Vermont Public and deepen loyalty among existing fans and supporters.
    • Work with internal teams to develop, coordinate and host interactive station tours and educational visits.

    Marketing & Promotion (25%)
    • Manage Vermont Public’s online community calendar by vetting and approving submissions, and curating listings to feature on other platforms.
    • Perform other marketing and engagement duties as assigned, including support for e-newsletters, promotional materials and branded swag. 

    Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement (10%)
    • Track event participation, audience engagement and other key metrics; evaluate results and recommend improvements to strengthen future outreach.
