Literacy Interventionist

Job Description
Mt. Abraham Union Middle/High School is a 7-12 school with approximately 600 students from four vibrant Addison County towns. We believe that all students should have access to high-quality personalized, proficiency-based learning opportunities and authentic assessment practices. We seek to support all students to thrive at Mt. Abraham so that they are prepared for meaningful engagement in college, career, and community upon graduation.

Our Literacy Interventionist is an integral member of our multi-tiered system of support in ensuring the academic success of every student. The Literacy Interventionist works to support students in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of literacy intervention programs within our school and collaborates with classroom teachers, literacy coach and the MAUSD Literacy Coordinator. As a licensed educator, our interventionist will utilize content and pedagogical expertise to provide instructional support to students that require supplemental instructional strategies and support. Essential to this position is the ability to engage and work with a wide variety of students and a strong understanding of progress monitoring and data analysis.

Salary is commensurate with experience and per the Mount Abraham Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Job Requirements

• Vermont Teaching License in Reading/English/Language Arts
• Master’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of five years of relevant experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Experience with NWEA’s MAP assessments is a plus.
• At least 5 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
