Description
“Aurélie Frolet presents ongoing research and design work, including her SOM Foundation Research Prize project, which investigates an urgent health and environmental crisis linked to failing and underfunded wastewater infrastructure in Alabama’s Black Belt. The project illustrates current systems, related health and environmental issues, and alternative approaches for mitigating impact. Aurélie is an Assistant Professor of Architecture at Auburn University, where her research and teaching focus on the design and representation of water infrastructure across scales, addressing issues such as drinking water access, equity in wastewater systems, and coastal resilience. Through teaching and scholarship, Aurélie uses experimental drawing as a tool to represent complex environmental forces and infrastructural networks. Through representation and architectural design, she seeks to improve public understanding of delicate and finite water resources.” FREE
