Instructional Coach in Mathematics

Job Description
The Mount Abraham Unified School District (MAUSD) is committed to strengthening its comprehensive system of support and is seeking experienced and dynamic educators to join our instructional support team as Instructional Math Coaches. We are hiring two individuals with expertise in Mathematics, who will support teachers across our PK–12 district. Candidates with elementary, middle, and/or high school teaching experience are encouraged to apply.

Located in the scenic Champlain Valley between Burlington and Middlebury, MAUSD is a rural district serving approximately 1,200 students from PK through grade 12.

Job Summary
The ideal candidates will be instructional leaders with a strong background in mathematics instruction, and a proven ability to work collaboratively with educators to enhance instructional practices. The Math Coaches will support the implementation of best practices in math content and skill development, differentiation, and data-informed instruction in a proficiency-based learning environment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to:

• Coach both mathematics teachers and educators in other content areas to support the integration of math and critical thinking skills.
• Facilitate curriculum alignment, instructional improvement, intervention strategies, and assessment development within a multi-tiered
system of support (MTSS).
• Collaborate with the Instructional Coordinator, other coaches, and interventionists to ensure consistency and effectiveness across
the district.
• Model high-quality instruction and lead engaging, relevant professional development.

Salary is commensurate with experience and per the Mount Abraham Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Job Requirements

• Vermont teaching license required
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• At least 5 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
