Environmental Services Tech I - Helen Porter
Posted: 06/16/2026The Environmental Services Technician I is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment throughout the facility. This role supports patient care by adhering to infection control standards, OSHA regulations, and departmental policies. The ES Tech I works collaboratively with staff to ensure high-quality service and operational excellenceKEY RESPONSIBILITIESCleaning & Sanitation- Perform routine and terminal cleaning of patient and public areas
- Follow infection control and isolation procedures
- Remove regular and contaminated waste safely
- Maintain supplies, carts, and housekeeping equipment daily
- Replenish stock across patient care and common areas
Operational Execution- Follow daily work schedules, procedures, and time standards
- Complete work logs documenting tasks and completion times
- Support floor care processes (buffing, scrubbing, refinishing)
- Assist with laundry, linens, curtain changes, and room setups
- Flex across departments and shifts as needed
Safety & Compliance- Adhere to OSHA, infection control, and safety policies
- Properly handle hazardous materials and cleaning chemicals
- Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues immediately
- Maintain a safe and orderly work environment
Teamwork & Communication- Collaborate with nursing staff and other departments
- Interact professionally with patients, visitors, and coworkers
- Communicate department needs effectively
Professional Conduct- Maintain professional appearance and hygiene
- Participate in required training and continuing education
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards (HIPAA compliance)
QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read and follow written procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and positive public relations
