Float Medical Assistant
Posted: 06/16/2026Provides patient care in the office setting. Provides care that meets the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care to patients of all ages and populations; meets the communication needs of patient and family; provides care that reflects initiative and responsibility indicative of professional expectations, under the supervision licensed independent practitioner. Performs duties as assigned/delegated by other clinical support staff within the office. Adheres to regulatory requirements, clinical and office policies, and procedures and standards. Communicates with physicians and team members about patient's clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology.EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalentEXPERIENCE:- Up to one year experience in medical setting with certification as a Medical
- Assistant or equivalent training and/or experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills BLS certification
- Ability to work under pressure and be able to adapt to medical situations
- Ability to stand/walk for up to eight hours/day, bend, stoop, twist, assist patients in turning, assist patient in arising from exam table, push wheelchair patients, and assist patient in arising from and returning to wheelchair.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:- Hearing adequate or corrected to be able to respond to patient’s verbal request
- Vision adequate or corrected to accommodate viewing and reading handwritten and typewritten medical records
- Lifting without assistance
- Ability to respond in person to patient emergencies
- Able to stand without interruption for extended periods of time
- Reaching (extending arms and/or trunk of body above or in front of body) for patient care or retrieval of supplies
- Capable of working under stress, related to multiple patients care demands occurring
May be subject to:- Hazardous Materials: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin – fumes, odors, dust, mists, blood, excretions
- Hazardous Conditions: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as lifting/pushing/pulling. Subject to cuts, scratches, burns and punctures

- Ability to work efficiently and accurately
