Surface Treatment (Painter) - FAA

- Prepare aerospace components and assemblies for painting through cleaning, masking, sanding, and other surface preparation methods.
- Mix, apply, and cure paints, primers, and specialty coatings in accordance with engineering specifications and process requirements.
- Operate spray-painting equipment and related tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspect coated parts to verify compliance with quality standards, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, process sheets, and technical instructions.
- Complete production, quality, and traceability documentation accurately.
- Maintain painting equipment and work areas in accordance with company safety and housekeeping standards.
- Identify and report nonconforming materials, products, or processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in audits as required.
- Perform all work in compliance with FAA regulations, company procedures, customer specifications, and NADCAP-accredited special process requirements.
Qualifications You Must Have- High School Diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate electronic work instructions, enter production data, and utilize company systems as required.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow technical work instructions and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to use measuring tools and inspection equipment as required.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as standing, bending, reaching, and repetitive motion throughout the shift.
- Must be eligible to work in a regulated aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Ability to comply with all FAA, safety, quality, and environmental requirements.
Qualifications We Prefer- Previous industrial, aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing painting experience.
- Experience operating spray-painting equipment and working with aerospace coating systems.
- Experience working within a NADCAP-accredited special process environment.
- Familiarity with FAA-regulated manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of AS9100 quality management systems and aerospace documentation requirements.
- Experience reading engineering drawings and specifications.
Work Environment- Manufacturing environment with exposure to paint fumes, solvents, chemicals, and noise.
- Requires use of personal protective equipment, including respirators, safety glasses, gloves, and protective clothing.
- Work is performed in paint booths and production areas.
- Position operates within a facility that maintains NADCAP-accredited special processes and FAA-regulated manufacturing requirements.
