Laundry Coordinator, FS
Posted: 09/07/2025The Laundry Coordinator provides laundry services to Athletics, the Health Center, and Facilities Services departments.
This is a full time, benefits-eligible hourly position with a hiring range of $19.92 - $24.40 per hour.
Core Responsibilities:- Operates Facilities Services commercial laundry facility providing services to: athletics, facilities, and the health center. Provides emergency laundry services as requested.
- Coordinates linen pick-up and deliveries for Commencement, Reunion, Language School and other events.
- Follows established protocols and provided training to effectively and safely clean up substances potentially containing bloodborne pathogens.
- Communicates with equipment and laundry chemical vendors for assistance in troubleshooting as necessary, requisitions supplies and coordinating service repairs. Uses, orders and restocks supplies in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Creates and maintains written ‘Laundry Operator’s Guide’ on current practices, chemical and equipment use instructions. Trains additional staff on proper laundry procedures to ensure standard level of service.
- Performs light maintenance and cleaning of all equipment, including dryer vents/filters.
- Cleans, maintains, and disinfects all interior and exterior components of college facilities including contents.
- Works cooperatively with others and accepts direction from team liaisons and supervisors. Performs other duties as assigned to assist the department in obtaining and maintaining its mission. Performs all duties in a safe and professional manner and in accordance with established departmental practices and procedures.
- Uses strong, professional, communication skills to build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, campus customers, and supervisors in order perform the most important work to support the academic mission of the college.
- Computer skills required in order to use computer based systems for inspections, supply ordering, work order submission, email communications, time entry and approval. Training provided on specific systems.
- Performs other duties as assigned to assist the department in obtaining and maintaining its mission.
Frequent, lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, walking and stair /ladder climbing required. Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength. Good attendance is very important. Required to work independently and adjust schedule as needed to meet short turnaround of items being laundered. Must be available to work flexible shifts and overtime. Ability to work Saturdays and Sundays as part of a regular or rotating work shift. Ability to perform manual tasks requiring moderate physical strength. Criminal Background Check, Post-offer Pre-employment Physical Exam.
