Middlebury and the Marble Border of Western New England by Glenn Andres and Bill Hosley. The Henry Sheldon Museum is presenting an illustrated lecture about the marble industry in Western New England, including Middlebury. The talk is followed by a tour of West Cemetery in Middlebury where you can find many marble gravestones and markers that feature skilled stone carvers’ craftsmanship. Glenn Andres and William Hosley, two notable historians, are presenting the lecture and tour. This event will take place in the Jessica Swift Community Meeting Room at the Ilsley Public Library, 75 Main Street, Middlebury. Tickets are: $35 for public; $25 for Sheldon Museum members. The price includes both presentations, a tour of West Cemetery, same day free admission to the Henry Sheldon Museum, and refreshments.
