The ACRPC Energy Committee has rescheduled a free public program on Integrated Design-Build of Non-Residential Buildings for Energy Savings for Thursday, March 18 at 7 pm. Buildings are the greatest source of energy consumption and greenhouse emissions in the world. The materials we use to create our buildings and the energy we consume to operate them take a tremendous toll on the environment. Approximately 76 percent of all electricity generated by power plants goes toward construction and operation of buildings. Buildings also account for an estimated 48 percent of all greenhouse emissions, compared to 27 percent for transportation and 25 percent for industry. The program will be presented by Chris Huston, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP and Andrea Murray, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP of Bread Loaf Architects, Planners, Builders in Middlebury.
