The annual Governor’s Tree Tapping ceremony will be held on March 6, 2009 at the Middlebury College, Middlebury, Vermont.
Starting at 10:00 am the Addison County Sugarmaker’s Association will have the mobile sugarhouse set up on Hepburn Road, Middlebury College campus, giving out free samples of maple cotton candy, maple cream, maple pops and sugar-on-snow. Samples will be served until 1:00 pm.
At 11:00 am Governor James Douglas will be tapping a sugar maple tree on campus in front of Mead Chapel, officially opening the 2009 maple sugaring season.
