This event that will explore ways we can work together to promote communication, civic engagement, and educational programming in our community! Please feel free to forward this invitation to anyone you feel may have an interest in attending:
Purpose:
- To hear state of the art perspectives on the media from Jason Mittell.
- To learn more about the resources MCTV can provide to your school, non-profit agency, community group, or you as an interested individual.
- To assess the needs of the community.
- To share resources you or your agency can provide to others.
- To begin planning for a stronger “media for democracy” presence in Addison County.
Agenda:
4:00 - Director’s Report and Annual Business Meeting, led by Dick Thodal
4:10 - Welcome and Keynote Address by Jason Mattell. Dr. Mittell is Chairman of the Film Video Department at Middlebury College and the President of the MCTV Board of Trustees
4:30 - Q & A Session with Dr. Mittell
4:40 - What can MCTV offer you and your agency?
4:50 - Needs Assessment: How can MCTV help you?
5:10 I- ntroductions and Brainstorming session: What other communication and media access resources exist in our community?
5:20 - Brief Future Dreaming Exercise: What resources and relationships would we like to have in place in three years?
5:30 - Meeting adjourns5:30 – 6:00 - Guests are invited to join informal small group discussions over light refreshments.
