DESCRIPTION:The American Legion Post 14 will proudly host the annual Memorial Day Parade at 11:00 AM on Monday\, May 26\, 2024\, in Vergennes\, Vermont\, home to the largest Memorial Day Parade in the state.\n\n\n\nThis year's theme: Honoring\, Courage & Sacrifice\n\nThe parade honors all the men and women who have served our country during times of conflict and gave the ultimate sacrifice. It is designed to appeal to both Veterans and our community.\n\n\n\nParade participation is free along the 1.5-mile route through downtown Vergennes.\n\n\n\nAll participants are required to prominently display patriotic-style decorations in keeping with the purpose and theme of the parade: Honoring\, Courage & Sacrifice.\n\n\n\nFollowing the parade\, there will be a solemn remembrance ceremony in the park\, after which the American Legion Post 14 will host a Chicken BBQ at the Post\, located at 100 Armory Lane.\n\n\n\nWhether you're marching\, riding a float\, driving a classic car\, or representing a community group we'd love to have you be part of this meaningful tradition\, and you can do so\, by signing up here.\n\n\n\nFor questions\, please contact Martha DeGraaf at marsulli75@gmail.com.

LOCATION:Vergennes\, beginning at Vergennes Union High School\, marching up Monkton Road to North Main Street. It continues all the way down Main Street\, turning on to South Maple Street just before the Bixby Library. From South Maple the parade cuts across Victory Street to Green Street. Taking a sharp right turn for a brief march on New Haven Road\, before ending at the Elementary School.
