In 2019\, Fortner earned recognition in multiple DownBeat Critics Poll categories\, winning first place in Rising Star Piano and Rising Star Jazz Artist. He's also the recipient of the 2015 winner of the Cole Porter Fellowship by the American Pianists Association\, the Leonore Annenberg Arts Fellowship\, and the 2016 Lincoln Center Award for Emerging Artists. Fortner's broadcast is exclusive for our Middlebury campus and community\, and he'll play a mix of original works and jazz standards.
