Turner and John Constable were also the greatest of rivals. Turner's blazing sunsets and sublime scenes from his travels and Constable's idealized depictions of beloved places from home whipped the public of the time into a frenzy of enthusiasm.\n\n\n\nBack by popular demand\, Great Art Wednesday returns to Middlebury's Town Hall Theater   featuring filmed tours of major art exhibitions around the world. The 2025-2026 six-film series launches on October 15 and continues through May.\n\n\n\n"This series has been a really enjoyable part of our educational mission\," says THT Executive & Artistic Director Lisa Mitchell.
