DESCRIPTION:Some non-profits have grant writers on staff.  Many in Addison County do not.  This workshop is designed for "small shops\," the ones where you may be asked to write a grant the same day you're on office kitchen cleaning duty. \n\n \n\nParticipants will learn how to:\n\n	Find the right grant opportunities\n	Write a winning application\n	Prepare a budget funders will understand\n	Think like a reviewer\n\nHelena Van Voorst's first experience with a grant was in 2002 when her boss dropped a letter from an angry funder and was told to "fix it."  Helena has been writing\, reviewing\, and managing grants of all sizes ever since.  Helena is the Executive Director of United Way of Addison County (UWAC) where she leads the organization's Community Impact Funding grant making process and offers support to local nonprofits seeking to increase/diversify their grant revenue.  She earned her B.A. in Communication from Dordt College and her M.A. in Communication & Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University.\n\n\n\nOrganizations interested in learning more about UWAC's Community Impact Funding grants are invited to stay from 9:30-10:00.
