SUMMARY:Future Grooves: A Middlebury Rave
DESCRIPTION:What happens when dance\, global music\, and visual projections collide in a single event? Future Grooves: A Middlebury Rave is a sensory feast coming to Town Hall Theater's new Anderson Studio at 72 Merchants Row overlooking the Otter Creek on Friday\, March 7 from 8pm until midnight.\n\n\n\nThis event\, open to the entire community\, is the brainchild of Laurel Jenkins\, chair of Middlebury College's Dance Department\; Amit Prakash\, Middlebury College Global Studies Professor and DJ\; and Dan Ribaudo\, a Middlebury resident known for spectacular projections at sporting arenas and other prominent venues around the world. The trio tested their rave concept at the Bread Loaf School of English over the summer\, and now is bringing this interactive event to THT's new second-level studio.\n\n\n\nAn all-vinyl DJ set by Amit Prakash (also known as\, t.h.e.o.t.h.e.r.) features albums the professor recently picked up in Paris\, in addition to futuristic techno and experimental dance music. Dan Ribaudo (also known as TVC95) will project stunning images across the soaring white studio walls. Middlebury College dancers will bring their moves.\n\n\n\nCash bar in the new Jean's Place Lounge is available with ID. Come dance or lounge in a new space transformed by a live multi-media show\, with a late-night vibe rarely found in downtown Middlebury. Tickets: $8/Students $12/Regular at addisonarts.org
