20+ Businesses Integrated to Create Displays of Home Furnishings and Services

Middlebury, Vermont – December 16, 2011 – The Addison County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the opening of Verde Mountain in Bristol. Verde Mountain is a retail store with an innovative concept whereby 18 to 21 home improvement professionals display their products in home-like displays—all under one roof.

Verde Mountain is owned and managed by artist Reed A. Prescott III of Lincoln. Vendors whose products are on display include: Woodware of Middlebury, Nops Metal Works, Healthy Home by Nikken, Mountain Street Studio, Keeping Good Company, MB Architecture & Design, McLaughlin Floors, Otter Creek Framing, DP Decorative Painting, Prescott Galleries, Thomas Building and Design, and Stark Mountain Woodworking.

“The idea is to create quality home environments that advertise for participating business in a true-to-life display you can see, touch, and feel,” said Prescott. “One setting can look like your dining room, but is created with the products and services of several local businesses.” Floors refinished, walls rag painted, rugs, table, drapes, and artwork framed through Verde Mountain’s framer all arranged and accented by Verde Mountain’s interior designer—all of whom are local neighbors. At Verde Mountain client and business collaborate with no middleman.

“For less of an expense than most advertising options, businesses have a Main Street presence with no responsibility for staffing or overhead expenses beyond their annual fee. I love the ability to fill a Main Street location with a viable and unique business, the opportunity for participants to network and collaborate on projects, and do it in a way where each participant focuses on what they do best,” Prescott continued.

Reed Prescott is the winner of two Vermont Duck Stamp competitions and whose landscapes are iconic images of Vermont. He sits in one of the two large store front windows working on paintings throughout the day greeting potential patrons between developing market strategies, promotions, and a digital media presence for the group.

Verde Mountain is located at 19 Main Street, Bristol. The phone number is 802-453-7541 and the hours of operation are Monday – Friday 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Saturday 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sunday 1 – 5 p.m. Their website is
