More About Pumpkins in the Park – October 29th

All are welcome to bring their carved and/or decorated pumpkins with a candle and registration form to the Vergennes City Park by 6:30 p.m.  Wearing costumes will definitely add to the fun!  First, second and third place ribbons and certificates will be awarded to each of six divisions: Family (which can include children of any age), Grades K-3, Grades 4-6, Grades 7-8, Grades 9-12, and adults.

At 6:45 p.m. the pumpkins will be lit causing the park to come alive with a “pumpkin glow!”  Then, with ghoulish sounds emerging throughout the park, the pumpkins will be judged by local art teachers and prizes awarded by Vergennes Mayor, Michael Daniels. Participants will be able to bring their creations back home ready for Halloween!

During the pumpkin judging, there will be a costume parade for children of all ages. Attendees will be able to purchase cider and cider donuts at the bandstand.

Registration forms must be filled out and brought with your pumpkin. They are available at Vergennes’ merchants and the Addison County Chamber of Commerce.
