Otter Creek Used Books Settling Into New Marble Works LocationBy Sue Hoxie
New location accommodates more books in brighter, sunnier space
Middlebury, Vermont – September 28, 2011 – The Addison County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the new location of its newest member, Otter Creek Used Books. The used bookseller has completed the move from its former location and is now located in Middlebury’s Marble Works district.
Owner Barbara Harding purchased the business in November 2006 and is Otter Creek Used Books’ fifth owner since the store was opened many years ago—originally known as Poor Richard’s Book Store. Most recently located on Middlebury’s Main Street, this marks the fourth time in its existence that the business has relocated.
Harding says, “I moved to be more accessible to and for my customers and that includes better parking and having all the books located on one floor. Being in the Marble Works met both my goals, but the unexpected perk is being part of a cooperating group of businesses who support each other. There is a definite community within the Marble Works and one I've experienced many times in my short time here.”
Otter Creek Used Books is located at 99 Maple Street in the Marble Works. Look for the blue awning between Costello’s Market and Vites & Herbs. The phone number is 802-388-3241 and the hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays by chance. They can be found on the Web at www.ottercreekusedbooks.com.
