Lauren Peck of Weybridge Will Receive $4,000 in Scholarship Monies
Middlebury, Vermont – June 29, 2011 – The 17th annual Addison County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Golf Tournament was held on June 24th at Basin Harbor Club. The Chamber hosts this annual tournament to raise money that funds a $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per year for four consecutive years) which is awarded to a graduating senior from the Patricia A. Hannaford Career Center.
This year’s scholarship recipient is Lauren Peck who will be attending Keene (N.H.) State College this fall and majoring in sports management. She has been very involved in athletics at school, participating in field hockey and dance team. She has done a great deal of community service with the United Way Days of Caring, Addison County Humane Society, UVM Morgan Horse Farm and working at the VFW Thanksgiving dinner. She is a member of the National Technical Honor Society and the National Art Honor Society, and was an excellent student in Hannaford Career Center’s Design & Illustration program.
The tournament was presented by J.P. Carrara & Sons. Our hole-in-one sponsors were Denecker Chevrolet, Cooperative Insurance, County Tire, and Mike’s Fuels.
