Two Destinations in 2016—Ireland and Rhine River Cruise

Middlebury, Vermont – February 2, 2016 – The Addison County Chamber of Commerce is offering its members, their families and friends, and members of the community the opportunity to travel this fall to either Ireland or the Rhine River. There is an information meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 17, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Swift House Inn at which interested travelers can get their questions answered by Chamber Discoveries, the tour provider.

Rich in history, scenic Ireland is the destination for one of this fall’s trips. With a departure date of October 17, 2016, the nine-day journey includes stunning destinations such as Dublin, Kilkenny, Waterford, Killarney, the Ring of Kerry, Blarney Castle and Galway. On this amazing trip you will also encounter breathtaking panoramic views of the Cliffs of Moher, and see historic locations including the “Book of Kells,” and Kilkenny Castle. This journey is packed with unforgettable destinations, but also gives you time to explore Ireland on your own as well. Enjoy local shops and restaurants or stroll through woodland settings. You may choose to venture out and visit St James’ Gate Brewery or stop by a traditional pub to enjoy a glass of Ireland’s iconic Guinness beer on your final night in Ireland!

The Rhine River Cruise is a once-in-a-lifetime scenic sail up the gorgeous Rhine River during an exclusive ten-day cruise. Participants will get to experience the Rhine’s most romantic and legendary sights while aboard the brand-new Charles Dickens, departing from Amsterdam on October 19, 2016. Travelers can experience first-hand the fascinating history and captivating charm of the cities lining the Rhine’s banks during guided tours and free time for exploring. While in Germany, tourists will see the beautiful religious architecture of Cologne, witness the breathtaking cliffs and ancient castles of Koblenz, taste the famous Moselle wines of Cochem and wonder at the self-playing music boxes in Sigfried’s Mechanical Musical Instrument Museum. The cruise also takes its travelers through the dreamy Dutch village of Volendam, the awe-inspiring Strasbourg Cathedral in France and the picturesque town of Basel, known as the cultural capital of Switzerland. With ample opportunities for learning, tasting, exploring and relaxing, this luxurious journey through the culture-filled Rhine and its European cities is sure to please.

“In past years we’ve offered just one trip, but the descriptions of both trips looked so great I couldn’t choose one over the other. We made the decision to offer both trips this fall, but unfortunately the departure dates are such that travelers will need to make the difficult choice. Either trip offers an amazing opportunity to participate in an international journey to a world-renowned tourism destination, where travelers can experience local culture, make new friends and memories,” said Sue Hoxie, president, ACCOC.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to visit either Ireland or the Rhine River. For more information and pricing for these amazing trips, please call the Addison County Chamber at 802-388-7951 or email Sue Hoxie at sue@addisoncounty.com.
