Two Upcoming Community Events Bring Crowds to BristolBy Sue Hoxie
Better L8 Than Never Car Show & Bristol Harvest Festival Scheduled for September Weekends
Bristol, Vermont – September 8, 2014 – Two separate weekends in September will host events that will bring both visitors and area residents to downtown Bristol. The Better L8 Than Never Car Show will be held Sunday, September 14th and the Bristol Harvest Festival will be held on Saturday, September 27th. Both events are co-hosted by the Addison County Chamber of Commerce.
The Snake Mountain Cruisers will be co-hosting the 10th Annual Better L8 Than Never Car Show on Sunday, September 14th at the Bristol Recreation Field. The car show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. More than 200 vehicles are expected with trophies to be awarded in multiple classes. Admission for spectators is free (donations are accepted for Camp Ta-Kum-Ta) and vehicle registration is only $15 per vehicle. Visit www.BetterL8ThanNever.com to download a vehicle registration form.
Saturday, September 27th will be the annual Bristol Harvest Festival, co-hosted by the Bristol Recreation Department. The festival will kick off with a 5K road race at 7:30 a.m. Other activities are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. when the village green will come alive with 60+ crafters, vendors, and bandstand entertainment. The children’s area will offer all sorts of including a solar-powered Bouncy House donated by SunCommon. This event wouldn’t be complete without an apple pie contest, biggest zucchini contest, chicken wing contest and pie eating contest, plus live music on the bandstand. All events are free and family friendly.
