Country Driving Tours of Vermont Offers Unique Tourism ExperienceBy Sue Hoxie
Guided tours of the Vermont countryside in convertible BMWs
Bristol, Vermont – May 28, 2014 – Country Driving Tours of Vermont, a member of the Addison County Chamber of Commerce, offers both visitors to and residents of Vermont a unique tourism experience with its personalized driving tours. Tour participants drive or ride in one of three BMW Z4 convertibles and are guided throughout specific routes, chosen for their beauty, road worthiness and historical importance, by business owner George Landis. Driver and passenger listen through two-way radios as Landis describes Vermont’s history and culture along the route.
There are three different tours to choose from, all approximately four hours in length.
- Classic: Features mountain driving over the Appalachian Gap with plenty of twists, turns, ups and downs to test the performance handling of the Z4. The focus of the tour is on nature, vistas, along with a stop at The Warren Store in the center of Warren.
- Dinner: Travels through the pastoral countryside bordering Lake Champlain and includes a stop in Middlebury to take advantage of the town’s fine shopping and concludes with a gourmet dinner at Tourterelle Restaurant & Inn located in New Haven.
- Picnic: Enjoy Vermont’s locally grown and produced food products with a catered picnic from the Dreamhouse Country Inn after spending a few hours touring the countryside, driving to the top of Mt. Philo, as well as stopping at Lincoln Peak Vineyard in New Haven and Dakin Farm in Ferrisburgh.
All tours can be packaged with lodging at Dreamhouse Country Inn in Bristol, owned by George Landis and his wife, Susan Small. Vehicles can also be rented for the day, without a tour guide. Tours are priced between $300 and $400 per car.
