At Common Ground Center you can have a fantastic, affordable family vacation that provides opportunities for shared family experiences as well as time for personal growth and revitalization.
Come enjoy arts, music, healing arts, great vegetarian food, culture and outdoor recreation!
Who we are:
Common Ground Center is non-profit organization dedicated to bringing together and strengthening diverse families and communities. We offer a varied array of programs focused on music and the healing arts and outdoor exploration.
You will be awed by our new ecologically-designed facility located on 700 acres of land bordered by Lewis Creek and the Hogback Mountains. We offer stunning views large open fields hiking trails stream wading and pond swimming. Meals and programs are provided in converted barns. Cabins or tents around a central bathhouse provide a rustic and cozy retreat atmosphere. We run three family camps in the month of August and offer themed programs throughout the spring summer and fall.
Rental Opportunities:
Our facility is available for rental by non-camp groups (such as office retreats and weddings) from mid-May to mid-October. We can accommodate 100 people comfortably.
Family Camp:
Camp Common Ground runs during the month of August in three separate week-long sessions. We are entering our 16th season of inter-generational family camp that welcomes people of all ages, ethnicities, lifestyles, abilities, and economic backgrounds.
Camp revolves around creative expression, fun, great vegetarian food, community, and natural beauty. Our relaxing, laid back atmosphere allows new and old friendships to be cemented. Camp Common Ground is a great way to vacation with extended family and friends of all ages – grandparents to toddlers will have the time of their lives.
Other Unique Programs:
We offer several unique programs throughout the season that are inspired by public input and request.
1. The Women’s Weekend, May 15th-17th
2. Camp Kaleidoscope, June 25th-28th: for families experiencing the autism spectrum.
3. Chinese Culture Weekend, July 17th-19th
4. Overcoming Barriers, July 20th-25th: This is a family camp designed to help children and families where one or more children are in danger of losing a relationship (or have lost a relationship) with one of his/her parents.
5. Lost Arts Week, September 21st-25th: Activities include, but are not limited to: whittling, food preservation, fiber arts, herbal remedies, archery, storytelling, and more.
