Join the Adagio Chocolates Team!

Adagio Chocolates is growing, and we're looking for an enthusiastic, community-minded person to join our team in downtown Middlebury. We are currently hiring for a full-time Store Manager, though we're also open to creating an equivalent role for two exceptional part-time candidates.

If you enjoy meeting new people, being part of the local community, learning new things, and get excited about sharing something you love, this might be the perfect fit. We're looking for a friendly, curious, dependable individual who enjoys being part of a team and can work independently. (And yes, a love of chocolate certainly helps!) We'll teach you all about chocolate, from where cacao is grown to how chocolate is made, so you can help customers discover incredible makers from around the world.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities may include:

• Welcome and assist customers with thoughtful recommendations
• Learn about craft chocolate and confidently share that knowledge with customers
• Process sales and operate the point-of-sale system
• Create attractive merchandise displays
• Receiving, organizing, and maintaining inventory for both the retail store and online orders
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting retail space
• Assisting with online orders and fulfillment
• Assisting with special events 
• Supporting social media or content creation

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who is:

• Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused
• Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
• Curious and eager to learn, and excited to share that knowledge with others
• Comfortable working collaboratively and independently
• Has basic computer and math skills
• Able to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds

Experience in specialty retail, coffee, food service, or hospitality is helpful but not required. We provide comprehensive training and are looking for someone with a great attitude and a willingness to learn.

Schedule

Store Manager (Full-Time)

• Tuesday–Saturday
• 10:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
• Occasional evenings and special events

For the right candidates, we are also open to discussing a shared arrangement with two part-time team members.
